Thomas Doll discusses being dumped by BVB for Klopp

Thomas Doll has spoken of being replaced by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as Borussia Dortmund coach.

Doll lost his job to Klopp in 2008 - just before the German Cup final.

“It is not pleasant to hear something like that just before such an important game, but nobody from the club contacted me about it," Doll said to Spox.

“Aki Watzke (Dortmund's CEO) and I only sat down after the season and decided that a fresh start would be best for BVB.

“My focus is always on the here and now and you could see in the final that the whole team was at the top.

“Unfortunately we lost 2-1 in extra time, otherwise it would have been a nice reward after all the bad games in the Bundesliga."
