Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara wants to return to Barcelona.

Don Balon says the Spain international feels his time with Bayern is coming to an end and is ready to return to Spain - and Barca.

Thiago's agents, report Don Balon, have already made contact with Barca and offered to sign for the Catalans either next summer, or even in January.

Knowing Barca are pursuing a deal for Philippe Coutinho, Thiago's reps are urging them to drop talks with Liverpool and made an approach to Bayern. The selling point being Thiago would cost much less than the €140m-rated Brazilian.

Many inside La Masia believe Thiago would be the superior option, with the midfielder initially being groomed as Andres Iniesta's successor as he came through the youth system.
