Chelsea loan star Joao Felix has become the first casualty of their ruthless summer plans.

The Blues are working hard with new boss Mauricio Pochettino to reshape and slim down their first team squad.

Per The Mail, Felix will not be signed permanently from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

Despite a few decent performances, Felix has failed to justify his hype as one of the most promising young players in Europe.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy and Callum Hudson-Odoi will also leave the club.

Others who may depart, but could earn a lifeline, include Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta and N'Golo Kante.

Pochettino wants a core group of young players that he can rely on throughout next season.
