United suffered a very disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday and while no one really performed particularly well on the day, midfielder Pogba in particular has been subject to a lot of criticism.
Now former Liverpool defender Carragher has also taken the opportunity to slam Pogba and stated that he felt sorry for Fellaini during the game as the Belgian was overexposed against David Silva by his expensive teammate.
Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, Carragher said: "I never thought I'd say this, but I felt so sorry for Fellaini... because he was left on his own.
"Forget what Pogba has cost or has done what he's done... he's not a kid.
"He (Pogba) has to be disciplined in a two playing against (David) Silva and De Bruyne. Either he's got it wrong or Mourinho has got it wrong by giving him license to be roam.
"It's embarrassing (the amount of space Silva had) in a game of this magnitude. To give that space to maybe the best player in the Premier League is unbelievable.
"I don't think Mourinho should be playing Pogba in a game of that magnitude in a two-an midfield - it looks to me that he can't do it."
