Manchester United vice-captain Michael Carrick has been awarded a testimonial to mark his 11 years of service to the club.

Carrick will play for a Manchester United 2008 XI against an All Stars team at Old Trafford on Sunday 4 June.

Confirmed players for the United team include Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

The All-Stars line-up will feature Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Michael Owen.

The money raised will go to charities in Manchester and Carrick's home city Newcastle through the newly-created Michael Carrick Foundation.
