Chelsea captain John Terry admits they paced themselves during victory over Marseille. Terry admitted that Chelsea took their foot off the gas against Marseille as they had one eye on their crucial home clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

Terry, who scored his first goal in six months after only seven minutes, said: "We managed to save a bit of energy, but we would have liked to get the third.

"It was disappointing losing our previous games and that's unusual for us, so to come here and put on a good show was important."
