Ten Hag chose Sabitzer from 10-man shopping list organised by Man Utd on deadline day

Manchester United activated their emergency protocols to secure the signing of Marcel Sabitzer on deadline day.

The Red Devils had to act quickly as they learned that midfielder Christian Eriksen would be out until April.

With manager Erik ten Hag very light in that area of the pitch, United moved to secure Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich.

Per ESPN, ten Hag was given a ten-man list on deadline day of players that could be secured within hours.

Significant funds could not be made available as the club had overspent in the summer window.

Ultimately, ten Hag chose Sabitzer, and United's chiefs got a deal done with Bayern.
