Sydney secure McFlynn with three-year deal

Sydney FC have signed key midfielder Terry McFlynn to a new three-year deal. The former Northern Ireland U21 representative has committed to the Sky Blues until the end of the 2012/13 season in a major boost for the current league leaders.

The 28-year-old was overjoyed with the new deal, stating: "I don't want to play football for any other clubs, either in Australia or anywhere else.

"I've been at Sydney FC for five years and I couldn't be happier to be signing on for another three years. I have grown to love the club, my family is here and I see Sydney as my home."

The ex-Morecambe man said he is excited about the prospects at Sydney, saying the club is on the verge of something good.

"I honestly believe we are putting together something special here at Sydney FC, both short term and long term, and I'm happy to be a part of what we are doing," McFlynn added.

"Everything we are doing is extremely professional and we are looked after very well here. We have a strong group of players and this is where I want to play my football."
