Sydney FC's Danning has no Ghana regrets

Sydney FC striker Kofi Danning has no regrets committing to Australia, despite the success of Ghana at this month's U20 World Championships in Egypt. Danning could easily be playing with Ghana's exciting team, but faces an early return to Australia after a dismal campaign.

He told fifa.com: I have no regrets about my decision because I've lived in Australia most of my life and it has given me all the opportunities I have. I'm really thankful for everything the country and the Aussie people have done for me and, if I can, I want to give something back, hopefully through football.

"I know it might seem strange to some people but I really do consider myself an Aussie; I feel it in my heart. The thing about Australia is that it's so multi-cultural and such a friendly, welcoming country that you very soon feel like you're a big part of it. That's why I always smile and am so proud whenever I pull on the green and gold."
