Swansea City striker Michu is desperate for his first Spain cap not to be a one-off.
Michu made his international debut in victory over Belarus on Friday.
"I'm very happy and very grateful," said Michu, a bargain £2m Swans capture from Rayo Vallecano last summer. "I'm thankful to the manager for his confidence, because he's put me in the starting eleven.
"I'm eternally grateful. The squad has taken me in and made things very easy.
"The game was difficult and it always is against opponents like Belarus who look to close up tightly. There were few spaces and few chances at goal. We had all the possession and dominated. It was difficult, but we have to take these games on and we've known how to suffer.
"When you can open things up, it makes things a little easier. In the second half we scored two goals, secured the game and got the three points."
