Swansea striker Lita spent night in police cell

Leroy Lita is in hot water at Swansea City.

The Daily Mail says Lita spent Sunday night in a police cell after he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly outside a celebrity hang-out.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to a disturbance outside London's Mayfair Hotel, a regular haunt for high-profile stars.

The incident is understood to have involved Lita and a taxi driver.

The 27-year-old striker was released during the early hours of Monday morning after paying a fine. Lita was given Sunday off by Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers after Saturday's 2-1 win at West Bromwich, where he was an unused substitute.

His arrest leaves him facing a two-week club fine, with Rodgers certain to be furious with the news, although Swansea last night declined to comment.
