Championship clubs are in contact with Manchester United for James Garner.

The Sun says Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday are battling it out to sign United midfielder Garner on loan.

Both teams are keen on the young midfield man, 19, who has been excellent for United's Under-23s in the past season.

Garner came close to leaving United on loan in January, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to keep him around the first team squad.

Swansea hope their reputation for passing football and promoting young talent will win them the vote from United.
