Swansea rejected Fulham offer for Rangel

Fulham failed with a bid for Swansea City fullback Angel Rangel yesterday.

Swansea turned down a triple transfer deadline day swoop as they rejected bids for Leon Britton, Darren Pratley and Angel Rangel.

They snubbed a move from Fulham for right-back Rangel while their Premier League rivals Wigan Athletic had a £1m bid rejected for midfielder Britton.

Nottingham Forest also failed in their attempts to sign Swans star Pratley.

"There was serious interest in Leon, Darren and Angel," revealed Swans chairman Huw Jenkins. "But we resisted the temptation to leave them go, taking into account the high value we place on the players as individuals in the squad."
