Matt Grimes reveals that Swansea City are determined to enjoy a good run in the domestic Cup competitions this season.

The Swans managed to kick off their Capital One Cup campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over York City on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Grimes was on the scoresheet in the second round fixture and the youngster has now revealed that Swansea are determined to do well in both the league and FA Cups this term.

Speaking to Swansea's official website, Grimes said: "One of our aims this season is to have a decent cup run in this competition and the FA Cup. We knew York were going to come and offer us a challenge if we gave them any chance they would capitalise and they almost did at times.

"We showed our strength and depth tonight. The manager fielded a line-up that would not have looked out of place against a Premier League team. It was a chance for a number of us to show what we have to offer the side and I think we did that – we are all hungry to get a starting position."
