Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde has rubbished reports his career is over due to knee problems.
Bodde has issued a statement through his agents Fair Deal - to insist that the procedure he has just undergone was only a minor problem and he was looking forward to soon being available for Premier League action.
"I don't know where these reports have come from, but they aren't correct," said Bodde.
"I am working hard with my rehabilitation and am trying to do everything to play this season for Swansea City in the Premier League. It's going very good with my knee and I am feeling strong at the moment.
"We have worked with a team of medical specialist from England and The Netherlands on a rehabilitation program which we will undergo closely.
"In the pre-season I underwent exercises along with the group successfully, so now and then I had the feeling I sank down my knee without feeling any pain but I didn't trust it.
"After extensive consultation with medical specialists I decided to do a minor surgery on my meniscus. My regular orthopaedic surgeon doctor did it for me. He knows the knee the best as he performed previous operations. There is a small piece of meniscus removed. Now I'm back home and feel fine."
