Swansea midfielder Bersant Celina: Why I celebrated Man City goal

Swansea City attacking midfielder Bersant Celina was pleased to score against former club Manchester City in their FA Cup defeat.

He turned away in celebration despite scoring against the side he spent four years at due to what happened in Swansea's game against West Brom in mid-week.

Swansea were 1-0 down when they were awarded a penalty. Celina stepped up to take it and as he approached the ball he slipped and completely miss hit his penalty before it was hoofed away. Swansea would go on to lose 3-0.

"It was such a nice goal, i was really happy to score. I wanted to prove that i could do it against such a good team and I was so pleased to score," the Kosovo international said.

"That was the reason I celebrated, not because i scored against my old team. My celebration was more about what happened at West Brom. It was so good to show everybody.

"But also I wanted to take the penalty. The gaffer wanted someone else. He didn't want to put me under any more pressure and he said before the game it was better to give the duties to someone else. I respect that - he just wanted to protect me."
