Swansea City have rejected a new offer from Wigan Athletic for midfielder Ferrie Bodde.
BBC Wales says Wigan could be prepared to pay up to £4.5m for the 27-year-old after add-ons.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins said: "The terms of the payment have improved, but our stance on Ferrie remains the same and the offer has been rejected."
Bodde is still recovering from a knee injury and Jenkins added: "Ferrie is edging closer to full fitness and we are all looking forward to seeing him pulling on a Swansea shirt again and bolstering Paulo Sousa's squad.''
