Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers hailed the professionalism of matchwinner Darren Pratley after victory over Reading.
The midfielder is off contract in June and wanted by the likes of Everton and Newcastle United.
Rogers said: "Darren is terrific and it was a wonderful finish. We had worked to get Angel (Rangel) in around the back and it was a great ball and a clever movement to get him free.
"He headed across goal and it looked an easy finish but when you look at the replay again it's a strike of wonderful technique and great power.
"The goal will give Darren fantastic confidence. He's a player I have great belief in and he is the ultimate professional.
"It would have been easy for me to throw him to the garbage because he hasn't signed a new contract, forget about him and play others.
"But it's very important in life that you feel valued. Hopefully he feels rewarded for that belief. It's what you have to do as a manager and show the players you care about them.
"The other players love him here and he's a wonderful player. I'm really happy for him because I know how much it means to him to play for this club."
