Swansea boss Monk wary of West Ham's Carroll: I've marked him!

Swansea City boss Garry Monk says they must be wary of West Ham United striker Andy Carroll.

The Swans were tormented by Carroll and Kevin Nolan when they last visited the Hammers in February.

Carroll set up both goals, including an opener for Nolan, before being sent off in a 2-0 West Ham win.

Monk said: "It is always difficult to handle Andy Carroll. Any team would find it hard at times.

"We have to find ways to deal with him when he has the ball first played into him, which is when he is most effective.

"We then have to pick up the second, third or fourth phase of play. That will dictate how we do against him.

"We need to stop crosses into him because if the supply is good then it can be impossible to stop him.

"I have marked him and believe me it is tough if the service is good."
