Swansea City boss Garry Monk has confirmed new contract talks.

Swans are keen to upgrade Monk's current deal.

Monk said: "There have been preliminary talks with the club and the chairman and I am looking to the future with Swansea City and trying to progress next season.

"We have opened discussions - we have said we will sit down and go into detail in the near future. Whether that's in the next few days or weeks I am not sure because we're in a busy period at the moment."
