Swansea City manager Russell Martin praised Ethan Laird after his debut against Stoke City on Tuesday.

The Manchester United loanee came off the bench during the 3-1 defeat.

Despite the loss, Martin was impressed with Laird's impact.

"You saw that with Ethan Laird, he added energy to the crowd, he added energy to other players just with his confidence and willingness to go at people straight away," said Martin.

"He'll run hard for us. He's an exciting one and hopefully we can get a couple more in before the end of the window to help the guys we've already got.

"All you can ask of your subs is that they have an impact on the game and they both did that."
