Swansea boss Laudrup: Tough for Michu to crack Spain squad

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup says Michu will struggle to break into the Spain squad.

Michu has been a revelation, with 12 goals in 16 games this season.

But his club manager believes the Spaniard, 26, faces a tough task to win a first cap with the world champions. Laudrup said: "He'd be the first man on the teamsheet for most countries. I just wish he was Danish."

Laudrup said: "It's so difficult (for players to break in). Spain have (Fernando) Torres, (Alvaro) Negredo and (Fernando) Llorente on the bench. (Juan) Mata is not even in the squad. That says a lot.

"I saw Mata for Chelsea on Wednesday and he's the most important player in the Chelsea squad. But sometimes he's not even in the 18 for Spain.

"Then (David) Silva plays and is sometimes on the bench. Spain have an incredible generation of players. Mata, (Andres) Iniesta, Xavi, Silva, Pedro (Rodriguez), (Cesc) Fabregas. There are about 12 of them.
