Swansea boss Carvalhal waiting on transfer news

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal believes that his club are doing everything possible to add to the squad in the remainder of the January transfer window.

With only a day left to secure deals, it does not appear there will be too many incomings at Swansea. But it is possible that one or two deals will be concluded.

Carvalhal spoke on the subject of transfers after his side's impressive 3-1 win over Arsenal – which finally gets them out of the league's bottom three positions.

"We are doing the best we can to get good players," he said.

"I hope this will happen. Maybe this win will help convince some players to join us, because the reality is that many of them do not want to come to Swansea (because of the position the club are in).

"We are making good offers, but some players do not want to come and some clubs are giving us some problems with some players.

"I will bring players we need to cover the gaps we have.

"If we don't sign anyone then I trust the players we have. We are looking at one or two things where we don't have players who can do specific things.

"But if we don't make signings, it doesn't mean we are weak. If we get players, it means we can jump to another level."
