A football fan who ran onto the pitch during Arsenal vs. Manchester United is set for a court date.

Gary Cooper is a 30 year old from Surrey. He will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court in May regarding a charge of common assault.

The charge is related to an incident involving Chris Smalling, when Cooper rushed onto the field and approached the defender.

Footage of the incident along with Smalling's testimony will be used to render a verdict on the charge.
