Super-sub Iheanacho secures draw for Leicester against Aston Villa

Leicester and Aston Villa have played out a 1-1 draw in the first-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Villa right back Frédéric Guilbert opened the scoring after 28 minutes, much to the shock of the King Power Stadium.

Leicester went on to dominate possession but were unable to penetrate Orjan Nyland's goals.

That was until substitute Kelechi Iheanacho showed some class to finish off Jamie Vardy's through ball.

The Foxes ended with 70% possession and 21 shots, but the tie remains evenly poised heading into the second-leg at Villa Park on January 28.

And Villa boss Dean Smith says he's looking forward to the second meeting.

He said: "It should be a good second leg, all square and a boisterous crowd, a full house.

"It wasn't the performance I wanted, Leicester were the better team but we defended well at times. We have to be honest, they created chances as well. We were loose on the ball tonight, we've got to do better.

"I'm certainly content with a draw, just not the performance. We gave away a farcical goal. Ezri Konsa has got brain dazzled. A disappointing goal but it sums up some of our performance on the night. We did get in a lot of tackles and blocks."
