Stoke have confirmed they are holding talks with Kenwyne Jones at the Britannia Stadium after agreeing a club 'record' deal with Sunderland. The Trinidad & Tobago striker is currently undergoing a medical at the club.
The club's current recording signing is Dave Kitson, who cost The Potters £5.5million when he joined from Reading in the summer of 2008.
Jones has a proven goalscoring record at Premier League level and bagged a total of 26 league goals in 94 appearances for The Black Cats.
The 25-year-old has already had a spell with Stoke, making 13 league appearances during a three-month loan stint from Southampton in 2005.
