Jordan Henderson has no doubts Sunderland teammate Danny Welbeck is destined for an England call.
Henderson, who won his first senior cap for his country last week, thinks Welbeck can follow in his footsteps into the future.
"I think he has what it takes," he said of the on-loan Manchester United striker. "He has massive potential and is still a young lad.
"He's been brilliant for us all season and he's scoring a few goals.
"Danny's been scoring and picking up man of the match awards but he does that every day in training. He has been superb.
"If he keeps going the way he is he is in with a chance of getting called up."
And Henderson is in a position to judge as he regularly faced Welbeck at Academy level when the pair were on their way through their respective youth systems.
"Danny has no fear," the midfielder told safc.com. "I've played against him for quite a few years in the Academy and he's always been a very good talent. You could tell he was going to be a player.
"I think he's living up to expectations and he can go on to be a massive player."
