Sunderland are eyeing FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong.

After seeing Newcastle United land Freiburg forward Papiss Demba Cisse, Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is now seeking alternatives and had De Jong watched on the weekend.

For the moment, no formal approach has been made, though Twente do expect Sunderland to try for De Jong, if not this month then at the end of the season.
