Sunderland have made an offer for Ipswich Town striker Connor Wickham.
The News of the World says Sunderland triggered a bidding war for Ipswich striker Wickham by offering £9million.
Liverpool and Arsenal are also chasing the England U21 international.
Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is determined to bring Wickham to Anfield after making several personal checks on him last season.
