Sunderland striker Fletcher will continue to toil for Scotland

Steven Fletcher intends to keep giving his all for Scotland whenever he is given the opportunity to play for his country.

The Sunderland striker has started all eight of Scotland's Euro2016 qualifiers but his one goal in that time has the critics banging down the door.

Nevertheless, Fletcher is doing the job asked of him by manager Gordon Strachan and has no plans to change that if the boss wants him in the team for his physicality and not necessarily his scoring prowess.

"He's the boss, he picks the team, so if he is picking me, he is happy," Fletcher said.

"I'm doing what I can. I'm running around, as you can see.

"If they are not happy with that, then it's down to them. Obviously I would love to score goals but if I'm not getting the chance, then I am not going to put it away.

"Hopefully if I stay fit and keep playing, I can stay in there."
