Scotland assistant boss Mark McGhee is excited by the talent pool of Scottish strikers and has praised the talents of Sunderland hitman Steven Fletcher.
Fletcher has only netted once for Scotland despite having featured in seven of his side's eight Euro 2016 qualifiers, but McGhee has backed Fletcher's qualities ahead of the clash with Poland in Glasgow on Thursday.
McGhee said: "Steven Fletcher brings a lot to the team other than goals and I think the fact that he played for Sunderland at the weekend, not having scored many goals this season, reflects that. And it's the same for us."
"That, combined with the fact he's in scoring form, definitely makes him a realistic candidate to start, but that will ultimately be the manager's decision."
Scotland host Poland in a vital qualifier in which only a win will keep their qualification hopes alive.
