Sunderland are very keen to sign Wolves defender Dion Sanderson on a permanent contract.
The League One side enjoyed the services of the center back during a recent loan spell.
Now the Daily Mail claims they are trying to push through a deal to bring Sanderson back to the Stadium of Light for next season and beyond.
The club are aware that interest from other teams in higher divisions may complicate any deal, while the opinion of whoever takes over as Wolves manager will also influence negotiations.
It is possible a new Wolves manager may choose to keep Sanderson with the first team squad.
