Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is ready to splash out on a new goalkeeper in January.
The News of the World says Bruce is following up his £3million bid for Coventry keeper Keiren Westwood.
Bruce has sent scouts to check on Westwood and is ready with a January bid for the shot-stopper, which would put Craig Gordon's place under threat.
The Irish international has been in superb form since signing from Carlisle for £250,000 in 2008 and has attracted regular Premier League attention.
