Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is considering a fresh move for Tottenham misfit David Bentley and could face competition from Everton.
The 26-year-old has started just one game this season and will be allowed to leave if a suitable deal can be found.
Tottenham are also understood to be willing to loan him out for a £1m fee, says the Daily Mail.
A permanent deal could prove difficult unless Sunderland sell first with Tottenham keen to recoup most of the £15m they paid for him.
