Sunderland have edged the battle for Egypt star Ahmed Al-Muhammadi.
The Daily Mail says Sunderland will take Egypt international Al-Muhammadi on loan for a season, beating off late interest from West Bromwich Albion.
The 22-year-old right-back, who plays for ENPPI and can also play in midfield, has already had a trial at the Stadium of Light.
