Sunderland are eyeing Birmingham City midfielder Diego Fabbrini.
Currently on-loan with Serie BSpezia, Fabbrini was watched by Sunderland scout Gordon Chisholm on the weekend against Benevento.
The 26 year-old joined Spezia in January with the option to sign permanently for €1.5 million.
Fabbrini was brought to England by Watford in 2013 before leaving for Birmingham last year.
