Sunderland striker Nacho Scocco is waiting to complete a return to Newell's Old Boys.
The Evening Chronicle says Scocco's return to Newell's Old Boys hinges on Sunderland resolving a £300,000 outstanding payment to the striker's former club Internacional.
The Black Cats have agreed a deal with Newell's secretary Pablo Morosano which will see Scocco return to his homeland for around £2.1m, with reports Argentina suggesting the money will be paid in six annual instalments, and that arrangement is expected to be rubber-stamped now Morosano has flown back to South America.
Sunderland believe they should not have to make the £300,000 payment after Scocco played just 229 minutes of football in his six month spell on Wearside, while Internacional insist they are entitled to the cash.
And that deadlock must be resolved before Scocco's transfer can go through.
