Phil Bardsley is of the belief that Scotland are capable of qualifying for the finals of Euro2016.
The Scots were yesterday drawn alongside Germany, Poland, the Republic of Ireland, Georgia and Gibraltar in Group D of qualifying and the Sunderland defender feels they can break into a major tournament for the first time since 1998.
"I'd like this to be the start of a long run of being part of the team. We have a huge couple of years ahead," he told the Daily Record.
"We will have difficult games in the Euro qualifiers but need to believe we can beat any country. Winning at home is key.
"We have a good squad and it really is about time we gave it a right good go. We should be able to qualify."
Scotland kick off their Euro2016 qualifying with a trip to Germany on September 7 before hosting Georgia on October 11.
