Sunderland's Altidore told me I would get chances at Utrecht - Stoke's Agudelo

FC Utrecht loanee Juan Agudelo has revealed that he spoke to fellow American striker Jozy Altidore prior to his move to Holland.

The 21-year old joined the Dutch club on loan from Stoke City after signing with the Potters on January 21 and has since made two appearances, providing one assist for the Eredivisie outfit.

Regarding the move, Agudelo told MLSsoccer.com that he had sought out some advice from Sunderland's Altidore who scored goals for fun with AZ Alkmaar before heading to the Premier League last summer.

"Jozy said I will get my chances here," said Agudelo. "He said I just have to keep myself close to goal and work hard.

"I want to work on the runs that I make [while with Utrecht], creating more chances by getting on the end of things. And tactically, becoming more mentally aware."
