Lyon defender John Mensah hopes his Premier League career is not over.

Mensah is hoping for the chance to play against Sunderland next season after the Black Cats decided his second season-long loan at the Stadium of Light would be his last.

"I love English football, I love the pace and the atmosphere, so yes, I would love to stay in the Premiership," he said.

"That is my first choice. But there are offers, and hopefully I can settle on the best."
