Sunderland are moving for Crystal Palace fullback Nathaniel Clyne.
The Sunday Mirror says Clyne, Palace's young player of the year last season, has been in fine form for the Eagles this season and Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has been a long-term admirer.
Palace were ready to snub any offers for Clyne but after falling into administration, Sunderland are now ready to pounce on the instability at Selhurst Park.
Bruce is ready to offer about £1million for Clyne, 18. A Selhurst Park insider said: "It's pretty obvious a lot of players will be sold as there are a lot of talented youngsters at the club. Nathaniel is a really good lad and a talented player and there is a lot of interest in him. It's likely he will leave before the end of the window."
