Sunderland midfielder Jordan Cook again running

Sunderland midfielder Jordan Cook has begun running.

Cook, 19, has already been out for five months after rupturing his cruciate ligament in a reserve game against Burnley in mid-September.

He underwent an operation to repair the damage and has been working hard in an attempt to make a comeback as soon as possible.

Club physician, Dr Glen Rae, told safc.com: "Jordan continues to work extremely hard on his rehab and he is now starting to see some of the benefits of his hard work.

"He has worked closely with the physios and strength and conditioning coaches at the Academy and has now progressed to running outside with the sport science team."
