West Ham United's Stewart Downing remains the subject of interest from Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Middlesbrough are prepared to offer Downing a four-year deal worth £55,000 a week.
Boro is understood to be willing to pay West Ham a £6million transfer fee, plus add-ons in order to bring the former Liverpool player back to the Riverside.
Sunderland are also staying on top his situation as Dick Advocaat looks to strengthen his squad following last season's last-gasp survival.
