Sunderland are set to offer a new contract to Wes Brown according to reports.

The Express suggests that Gus Poyet is convinced the 35-year old defender can continue to do the job for the Black Cats for at least one more Premier League season.

Former Manchester United centre-back Brown is out of contract in the summer but has proved he still has something left in the tank having appeared 22 times in England's top flight for the Wearside outfit this term.
