Sunderland fullback Jones hoping injury woes over

Sunderland fullback Billy Jones hopes he's over his hamstring woes.

After two months out of action, he made his return in Sunderland's Boxing Day game against Hull City.

Jones told the Evening Chronicle: "Every time it (a hamstring injury) happens, and unfortunately for me it has happened a few times over the last year, there is always a big inquest.

"To be honest, I knew it (the latest injury) was the worst one I had had. It was a lot more tender and it felt different and that showed on the scan.

"One of the things West Brom had talked about was seeing a particular specialist.

"The Sunderland staff thought there was a need for it as well and I had a number of injections into the nerve.

"In my eyes, it has worked to play two games in three days.

"It is great to be back."
