Exeter City starlet Matt Grimes is interesting Sunderland.
The Daily Mail says Sunderland were among a clutch of Premier League and Championship clubs who watched the 18-year-old when he played in the recent League Two fixture at Hartlepool.
Grimes made 36 appearances for Exeter in his breakthrough campaign in the first team and he was voted the club's player of the year.
