Sunderland enquire about £8m Anderlecht defender Mbodji

Sunderland boss David Moyes has reportedly asked after Anderlecht's Kara Mbodji.

The Sun reports that the Black Cats are keen on the Senegal international and are ready to bid £8million in order to land him.

With Everton keen to sign Lamine Kone as Manchester City-bound John Stones' replacement, Moyes has moved for a new centre-half in the form of Mbodji who joined Anderlecht from Genk last year.

The ex-Tromso man was close to joining West Ham United last summer but was unable to obtain a work permit due to a lack of international caps which has since been settled.
