Sunderland are close to signing Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts.

Roberts has been on-loan with Troyes this season.

The Northern Echo says the Black Cats have fended off interest from Celtic and Wigan to sign Roberts and are hoping to wrap up a deal for the winger before their next game against Portsmouth on Saturday.
