Sunderland are stepping up their bid for Inter Milan midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
The Daily Mail says the 25-year-old Serb is also liked by West Ham and Aston Villa but Paolo di Canio, who has also made an enquiry for Besiktas midfielder Manuel Fernandes, hopes to win the battle.
Di Canio has not been shy to bring in new faces this summer with no less than nine signings.
