Sunderland boss Steve Bruce hopes to land Tottenham striker Peter Crouch at the second time of asking.
The Daily Star says Sunderland chief Steve Bruce is resigned to losing Jordan Henderson, with Liverpool expected to offer around £20m for the midfielder. And that will kick-start Bruce's own spending spree, with £10m-rated Tottenham hitman Crouch at the top of his shopping list.
He rejected the chance to move to Wearside within weeks of Bruce's appointment.
Crouch, then at Portsmouth, had talks with Bruce in July 2009 - only to opt for Spurs when Harry Redknapp came calling.
The chance of regular first-team football could sway the striker, while an offer in the region of £10m could force Spurs' hand.
